Sponsors
The Adelaide University Rural Health Alliance is part of the Rural Undergraduate Support and Co-ordination Program (RUSC), which is funded by the Department of Health and Ageing.
In addition to this, MDA National is a major sponsor of AURHA. The support of MDA National is integral to the running of events such as our Welcome BBQ and Annual General Meeting and facilitates the printing of the AURHA publication, Rouseabout. MDA National is a respected medico-legal organization, who offer free student membership. As a student member you get access to information about medico-legal matters, their elective database, and (most importantly!) invitations to MDA National’s fun student functions. So if you haven’t joined yet, check out www.mdanational.com.au.
AURHA also greatly appreciates the support of the Rural Doctors Workforce Agency of South Australia. RDWA support AURHA’s members by helping out with many of our activities, by helping with the publication of Rouseabout, and by offering many additional events. And as of 2007, RDWA have offered to fund free AURHA membership for students studying medicine through a SA State Government bonded place - if you are one of these students have not yet joined AURHA, let us know. But helping out students is just a small part of what they to aide the rural health workforce in our state. To find out more, go to www.ruraldoc.com.au.
The Department of General Practice at the University of Adelaide hosts the AURHA office and provides administrative support for the club. We are very grateful for their ongoing support, and the many helping hands we get from the department!
The Spencer Gulf Rural Health School and the Adelaide to Outback GP Training Program also provide financial support and practical assistance to aide the everyday activities of AURHA as well as the organisation of special events.
As AURHA continues the expansion to become truly multi-disciplinary, we welcome the involvement of other organizations looking to engage with future nurses and allied health staff. To find out more, please contact the AURHA Treasurer at katrina.lyne@student.adelaide.edu.au.
