NRHSN
The National Rural Health Students Network (NRHSN) represents 22 Rural Health Clubs (like AURHA!) with approximately 5000 members located at universities throughout Australia. The NRHN is a multidisciplinary Network representing medical, nursing and allied health students aiming to increase the health workforce and health outcomes for rural and remote Australians.
The NRHN council includes a member from each rural health club.
There is at least one RHC in every state and territory. In South Australia we have AURHA, FURHS (Flinders University) and ROUSTAH (UniSA) RHCs aim to promote rural and remote practice to their members through information exchange, placement opportunities, support and advocacy. All rural health clubs have a multi-discilpinary focus and run a number of activities each year in order to promote rural and remote health careers to their members.
In addition to the events co-ordinated by the individual RHCs, the NRHN Council also co-ordinate other initiatives for members of all the RHCs. For example, the NRHN Conferences of National Significance (CoNS) project gives funding for AURHA members to attend health conferences all around the country. Also, the NRHN hold national forums so that members from all RHCs can meet and get enthused about rural health!
